Here in Chicago, the local TV reporting lacked all this context. It wasn’t made clear that this was a DOJ operation — they did say “federal prosecutors” but most viewers wouldn’t tie that back to Trump and Blanche. The reporting focused on statements implying this was all about errors made by local officials who are sorry and embarrassed. And, of course, no use of the term “weaponization.”
Add Albrego Garcia to the bushel basket of bullshit cases. Blanche should not just be reprimanded by Judge Crenshaw, he should be vilified in the press.
The only thing which has saved us from Trump so far is his epic level of incompetence, including the aggrieved clueless losers he hires (who flock to him because they can rise faster/farther under him than they ever could on merit or ability).
