The plain English of the 2nd amendment reads: "A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."
So, what is a "Free State" we must ask. In today's America, the security of people in every state, both citizens and other human.people, with or without documentation, are under threat from the extra-juducial tyranny of ICE and the CBP. The leadership of these agencies are exhorting their fully armed agents, to ignore normal police procedures and use whatever force is necessary, including deadly force, to achieve their objectives.
The Founders, fully aware of threats both foreign and domestic to our Freedom and Security, left us State militias, today's National Guard, as protection against Federal tyranny. Each states National Guard are under the direct control of the Governor of each state.o Given the intentional murders by both ICE and CBP of two Minnesota citizens, it is way past time that Governors call up their National Guard troops to secure the safety of the all their states' people.

FOX News and its lesser imitators like Newsmax, OANN, etc. are the root of the rot afflicting our country. Regarding Pretti's execution, they *all* uncritically echoed and amplified the Administration's lies, smearing him as a domestic terrorist with his gun drawn intent on a murder spree. That FOX had a few voices backpedal slightly after two days of fabricated smearing is small comfort. And only because Pretti was legally carrying a gun, and their 2nd Amendment viewers are not happy at a white man being executed because of that.
Trump2 officials from the President on down, and most GOP pols and influencers lie about literally EVERYTHING. All the time. This culture of incessant RW lying is 100% due to RW media led by FOX News. Who obediently parrot GOP talking points, and refuse to call out GOP politicians when they lie through their teeth.
Until and unless RW media can be required to tell the truth, by using actual journalistic standards like multiple sources, timely retractions, etc. nothing will change.
